The Mantiqueira de Minas region is located on the Minas Gerains side of the Serra
de Mantiqueira, in the southern part of the state of Minas Gerais. With a centuries-old tradition of producing high-quality coffee, Mantiqueira de Minas is today considered one of the most awarded regions in Brazil. In 2011, it was recognized as a Geographical Indication (GI), in the indication of Origin (IGP) modality for its tradition and a worldwide reputation for producing specialty coffees with a highly differentiated sensory profile.
Santa Clara Farm, owned by Carlos Henrique Graciano, is located in Conceicao do Rio Verde in Mantiqueira de Minas and belongs to the COCARIVE Cooperative.
The Harvest is done over cloths in order to avoid the beans coming into contact with the ground, preserving its quality. On the same day, the coffee is transported to the processing center; after being processed, the beans are dried in cement patios under the sun and then go to a dryer for a final drying phase. After that, the coffee is deposited in the warehouse of COCARIVE which gives member support through all stages of production.
